Soundstream BX-12 Bass Processor

Good day Gents,

I just installed a BX-12 on my car last week and I have not been able to get rid of the distortion when ever I start putting the bass level up from the remote. What the heck is it? I already changed the switches inside from 13.5 volts to 7.5 because Im only running a Treo STI 10in. sub in ported box. I lowered the gain on my amp, I made several adjustments on my Premier DEH-850mp headunit. What the heck. Seems like with old music it works good but at times starts throwing this double bass crap. Hip hop I cant even turn it up, I have to leave it all the way down which seems useless to have such a device considering Hip hop is all I really listen to. By the way Im running an RF500.2 amp for my sub bridged at 4ohms

Any good advice on other methods I could use? Or is anyone else out there having the same issue?

Since you just added a processor take it out and test the system the way it was previously set up. If the problem is gone you either have a bad BX-12 or something is wrong with the installation. Make sure your grounds are good, check your wires for any signs of damage or loose connections, swap RCAs with known good cables. Read the BX-12 manual if you still need ideas.
