Soundstream Amp Repair (How long?)

Got a xxx-6500 and it needs repair. I called db-r and Soundstream. Soundstream quotes $150 flat-rate repair with return shipping included. Db-r quotes $125-$165 plus return shipping with a warranty.

Db-r says it will be at least a month, Soundstream says 2 weeks. Anybody sent an amp to Soundstream, should I believe 2 weeks? Should I just go to Db-r and wait a month?

i'd go with soundstream, never heard of a company that couldn't fix their own stuff...

Bump, wondering if anybody has experience sending them an amp and how long it took them.

I had a 405 I sent to SS for the flat rate repair($120).It only took them like a week and a half maybe a tad longer(can't quite remember) to get it back to me!What the do is just replace the board from what I hear.That is where all the time is taken is diagnosing the problem and what needs replaced.They just replace it all and be done with it.Mine even came with a 1 year factory warrenty again.

Thanks for the info. The guy at db-r told me they just swap the board also. I am gonna put a note in there asking them to send me the bad board back too, it's worth a try.

They also quoted me 1.5-2 weeks time and wanted to know if that was a good estimate. Db-r said it would be at least a month since he has about 40 amps right now

I would go with SS.But thats just my opinion.
