SOUNDSTREAM 15" SPLX compared to the 15" RE SX?

yeah of course if a XXX is running on 1 coil an L7 might beat it, but majority of times with X car running both subs with a professional making the boxes SX would most likey beat the L7 the vast majority of the time. No offense to you but Ive seen you make this statement several times and it is just to vague to have any meaning to it. cause yeah alot of factors can make the biggest junker sub beat a world class competition sub but optimum condidtions a L7 is not gonna beat a solo X and in the same instance it wont beat an SX. Im looking to see if there are any subs I dont have on hands knowledge with that may be better in general for SPL than an SX in the same pricerange. I messed up in replying to VOA_Nightmare and lost out on the RFL so im looking at other options.

No, I think your point is quite exaggerated.I'd have quit of hands experience and know alot about both drivers. Youy can't say woofer X right outta the box will be louder than woofer y, two cars, two boxes, two interiors, two,etc. See my point?

Too vague? Well 18 years experience on one driver and seeing the others many times and talking with many compeitors on the other. Don't get me wrong, the SX is a great driver. But a 12" woofer can beat a 15", in the install and setup. So not too vague, just honesty.

As far as what the Solo X and L7 can do, and the numbers they can do, I have alot of proven knowledge in...

PS the louest Street A car now has two L7 10's with 4400 watts, installation. And most of our street and SS and Extreme cars have the X's, so I know what they can do as well. And they do very well, because they are installed, correctly.

Will they beat everything, no, didn't say that, but you can get a 15" woofer, adn if I do an install with a L7, 12", it can take a 15"....so you see my point...

and have you tried? Ive seen plenty of L7s go against SXs and have yet seen one come within 3dB and this is in competition. They couldnt of all had shitty boxes. Thats where Im coming from on why I dont want an L7 Im not just speaking on something i havent heard.

What ever happened to the Tempests....everyone used to talk about those being great SPL drivers if you have a lot of room...and they are cheap as hell right...

Let's see....shall I recall dB Drag World Finals 2004....a guy by the name of James Herren in a Ford Explorer in Street A beat every other Street A car (including the unbeatable CRX's) there. His explorer managed to do it and beat em all.

Many of the top ranking Street Competitors used L7's that year and years before. Including Kevin Koller and many others. It's proven. They work. You can't argue, you don't have a leg to stand on in this one.

All of the subs mentioned...RE SX, L7, and SOLO X are all awesome woofers. But for you to say that an L7 does not qualify as an SPL woofer....tells me you know abosolutely nothing about what you are talking about.

L7's are absolutely some of the best subs on the market. PERIOD.

15" woofer is a 15" woofer...period, one has more Xmax, one has more Sd.

well anyways Im not interested in Kicker or Alpine which seems to start an arguement in every thread on this forum. Anyone else recommend subs that SPL wise are comparable or better than an SX? someone PMed me about a SI Mag never heard one how do they compare? and Im not asking people that are selling their stuff, just in general how subs compare to one another so i can make a decision.

Ive heard Kickers, Alpines, JLs not interested in hearing about them. there are plenty of other subs I havent heard and am looking for the best bang for the buck.

Well not going to say anything neg. So staying out of this one.

But as far as those SI Mags you mentioned are some very good subs. More sql than straight spl. Very good sounding subs. I would recommend it over the sx anyday. But that is more my taste.

Ok i'mma give a answer this tread starter has been looking for finally. Some subs to look at are Incriminator Audio Death Penalty if you could find a used one cheap. That SI Mag is good also. Memphis MOJO's are good too but as far as how they stand up against SX i'm not sure b/c i haven't heard a SX before.
