SoundSplinter Rl-s

They are high Q drivers. Long excursion, high power driver. It is a preferred choice of many people who have loads of space for a large sealed box and a large amp. Does very well in home audio. Just due to the sheer amount of materials and motor, it is more expensive. The Demo ring from last year, everyone loved it a great deal. I hope to own one some day.

lms uses a variable density vc as well. Not sure if the rls does:confused:But I don't think it does.

rl-s is not the best option for CA imho. Needs too big of a box to be usefull. For HA, however, it is a kick *** driver.

From the SS website:

Due to the nature of this product's variable density voicecoil, the T/S parameters will look a little strange when judged on a conventional basis.

from the pic the RL-S looks to have a linear VC. Flat wound copper iirc, not as tall as the LMT's in my avatar, not as tall as the LMS-Ultra or the LMS 5400. The LMS 5400 and Ultra were not flat wound and they were AL wound iirc...
