soundsplinter rl-p against avalanche 12'

no //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. When I joined I didn't even post because anything I needed I found quickly. There's tons of info floating around about both subs. Just run a few searches or rlp AA avalanche etc.

yea im searching rite now....still haven't figured out which one to buy!!! Do you guys know if they charge tax for soundsplintter subs and how much it cost to ship a 12' SS rl-p sub?

No sales tax. Shipping to Houston I'd guess to be around $20-$25.

From browsing, and not hearing any subs in person, this is what i have been gathering about those three subs.

IDMax- very tight sounding sub, good for rock music, but doesn't get boomy or low

Avalanche - boomier sounding sub, gets low as hell

RL-P- mix between the two, gets lower than an IDmax but not as low as an Ava.

Let me know if i am way off on these?

the box is probably going to have more to do with the "tightness" or boominess than the subs.

to an extent yeah. But i used to have a JL Audio W3 in my sealed box, and it was boomy as hell and very innacurate and slow. Then i swapped that out for an Infinity Perfect, and it was much tighter and alot less boomy, so i do aggree with you to an extant, but the sub definately makes a difference.

I am still deciding on which sub to get the soundsplinter rl-p or the avalanche 12'. Im only looking to spend around 200-250 at the most for a 12 inch. Which ones would u guys recommend. And what amp to run on each subs.
as far as the amp, you are probably good getting an Elemental Designs Nine.1. You could save like 50 bucks and go for a hifonics, but then you won't have the warranty, and Elemental Designs is a much more solid brand than Hifonics.

i was wondering if i buy the avalanche can the sub handle 1200 watts @ 1 ohm? Are there any group buys for soundsplinter subs or avalanche subs?

soundsplinter had a group buy about 2 months ago, they wont have another for a while

AA have tehir subs for sale for cheap because they are replacing their model line.

imo, AA> rl-p just for my tastes, box size/tuning.

and the ava is D2 while the rl-p is D4, so know what size amp you will get for both.

ava's dont need any more than 7-800watts, but you can probably send 1200 to it if you set your gain WISELY. me, ill be sending mine about 900watts.

i've tried ordering my ava like 3 days in a row w/ no luck of them answering their phone.

hopefully tomorrows a different story.

Those subs dont have the same box requirements, thats not a very fair/good comparison or reason //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
