SoundSplinter RL-P 12: handle ~1500 Watts RMS each?

I've heard of RL-p's being pushed to 1.2kW daily and taking it fine. Once you get over 1300wrms or so, I would be extremely cautious.
Remember, that sub only needs 750W or so to really get down to wangin' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
This may be a dumb ? but oh well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. If the rlp can be pushed to its max with 700 watts then, what is there to gain by sending it 1200? Unless like you don't have room for the recommended box. I just get confused when it comes to this...example.. Yea I'm pushing 1200 watts to my new type r. With a 600 watts and a proper box for that power, would the 1200 watts yield better results?

No problem, its a nice sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im just saying they do not liek to be driven hardcan and will botto, they m out on you if you drive them too hard. Id say 1000 is the max they can safetly handle.
What sub wouldn't?

no gain by doing it, just increasing chances of breaking it.

Also bear in mind that you arent even giving that sub its RMS rating, so not really sure how you can say it wont bottom out if you drive it too hard.

I really doubt there would be a noticebale difference with me giving it 1400 watts versus its rms at 1600.

Very true, I've heard folks running 2k plus to theres... I personally have never ran more than 1500 to mine.

Also could I maybe get a more in depth answer to my question a few posts up. Someone knows the 100% correct answer... if there is one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif.

I already answered that question. Once you get to a certian point (like 800 in the RL-P) the sub will no longer get louder and it will just put the driver at risk) Mike told me this personally via email.

Ok well, you were sending more then the rated rms to the rl-p and said it was bottoming out, and you are sending less then the rated rms to the XXX and say that it won't bottom out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif If you send the XXX (or any sub) too much power it will bottom out....sorry to make you lose your boner

All in all im saying to the threadstarter the full 1200 watts isn't good, nor even needed for the RL-P. Im sure it would sound the same at 600 watts as it would at 1200 watts. Its like sending a W3 800 watts, its just not made to work at high power like that.

Shut your *** up. You had it in a wrong box with that power to begin with. So take your xxx and GTFO. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

yes, i understood it, then i realized it was best to sell it and pick up a sub that is made to handle power like that.
