Hey, Mike; I was lookin' at your site;

October 2003:

RL-x SVC in 8", 10", and 12"

RL-i SVC in 10", 12", and 15"

RL-m DVC in 10", 12", and 15"

RL-p DVC in 10", 12", and 15"

May 2004:

RL-x and RL-m removed, leaving us with our beloved and well-known Ignitions and Premiums.

Just curious about the 10" P's, and the X/M series.

Can you tell me about the naming conventions? What's "RL"? "X"? "M"?

Juuuuust curious. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Don't know about the X & M series, but IIRC the 10" Rl-p was never done because the performance differences between the 10" Rl-i and 10" Rl-p would have been too small to justify having the higher priced 10" Premium series woofer in addition to the more affordable Ignition series 10".

You sly dog! You're probably lookin' at this hideously old proto website: http://www.soundsplinter.com/old

I had initially thought to carry additional lines to begin with (such as the TC7 amongst others), but eventually decided that it would not be cost effective to spread my limited capital over so many products to begin with. By reducing my start-up inventory to only two lines, and dropping the Premium 10" version, I was able to produce the select drivers in larger quantity, thus saving me money and allowing me to price my products very competitively.

The names do not hold much significance - Squeak linked you to the story behind the "RL" - however the I, P, X, and M did not have any official meaning until I ended up running with the I and P and found some terms that I thought worked well in the scheme (ie. Ignition and Premium).

No conspiracy here.. moving along.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Oh, duh. I hadn't noticed the /old, that would've been way too easy.

That's the 2003 version, at launch. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, I had fun poking around. It was neat to see the pre-exposure website and drivers; It was also interesting to notice how quickly you gained recognition from the time of launch; a year and a half is very rapid in today's market!

I also noticed 4 consecutive monthly updates in 2004; site additions, or price adjustments? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So, where are all the 8" ms and xs? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

PS n00bs; Learn to swim, I'm not telling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
