He wants an unbised opinion on Sony and you tell him to search for "sony sucks" ???

Sony is a mid level car audio company. If your on a tight budget there fine. But there are plenty of other options to choose from. There just not as high end as other products.

anyways, imo, sony subs are cheap, cheaply made, look cheap (the red is disgusting) and sound herendous. i was almost going to get them until i came upon this site. they even sounded good at the time at cc's but i had nothing to compare them too.

The old school Mobile ES line is good...other than that, don't waste your time for car audio equipment from them.

What Jmac said... they have a suprisingly high amount of SPL, but they totally **** when it comes to sound quality, build quality, looks, and again, low long term power handling, etc.

There are a few amps (and I mean a FEW) that where under rated as far as power goes in the xplode line. Any of the hexagon shaped amps were decent. Only thing with those is that they're all class D's and you absolutely cannot drop the ohm load any lower than rated by Sony, or that amp's going "poof".
