Sony xplod subs

I usually don't put down any subs but Sony Just completely lost all of my buisiness. Their SQ is horrid, they cant take any power, and they don't get loud. One of my friends made the mistake of just buying some... he hooked em up and wow i could get more volume and sound quality out of a 6x9 or 6 1/2". Please don't get sony Xplodes cuz they do just what the name says as soon as you put 5 watts to them.

forgot to mention mine are 200wrms, and i got 350wrms going to them, and anytime i'm in my car i got that sh!t cranked!!! i kinda wish they would blow, to give me a reason to get something else.

What ever happened to the HCCA/RE HC recone?

well my hcca had dual spiders, and the hc didn't so i was thinking of getting the xxx recone, but everyone keeps talking me out of it, as of right now i don't know what im gonna do. xmas is coming and i got some kids to buy for...and an old lady thats getting a new RE setup. i'd like to try it, but jlaine explaind to me that there is too many variable that go into "frankenstiening" a sub than i know, and if i'm going to waste $75, i'm just going to put in towards a new sub....i don't know, i would like to recone it, though........

My friend had two sony xplod 12's in his car. For the price, I would say they aren't really that bad. I think for the money you'd be a lot happier with another brand like Alpine, Kicker, RE, or Adire. I'm not really putting the subs down, because for the price they aren't really "that bad", but I would shop around a lot before making your choice.

I know someone with one of these and the sound is absolutely horrible. I can't think of a much worse reproduction of music. It's as muddy as a **** river bank and can't get loud if it were paid $100.

Get Memphis PR's, 2 10''s are $100 +$35 shipping from indo audio on ebay.

I hear from everyone they are shitty, but there is a guy with a crx and 4 xplod xls-121 12"s and 2 HK4000 amps, runnin around 1000-1500 each sub or somethin like that. He hit 151db.

Okay my friend has a 93 black toyota celica and has 2 15 inch sony xplodes in the hatch running 250w for each of them. and its pretty loud. he lives down my street so everytme he comes home from school I can hear the subs far away and rattles my windows a bit. but now he has a kicker solo x

I have two black Sony Xplod 1300 watt max power 12's. They sound good on the POS amp I have installed but I'm getting a PA a2400db amp that will push 700 watts into each sub @ 2 ohms. With the low powered amp they sound great. SQ is very good. They may not be up to par with Alpine or PA or Audiobahn but they're still good subs for the money. I'd take them over Kicker comps any day of the week.
