Sony Xplod 2/1 Channel XM-2165GTX

Is this amplifier 1-Ohm Stable?

Done several searches, looked on Crutchfield. Nearest I'm able to tell it isn't.

Reason I'm asking is because my mom wants me to wire her subs for 1-Ohm. I don't want to screw her amp/subs up, she's under the impression that it actually does 1,000w RMS.

What's sad is if she's parked, this thing takes gobs of power (Volt-meter on dash bounces between 13.1-13.8.) I've tried telling her that amp is not doing 1,000 watts, but she's under the impression "If it says 1,000 Watts, it does 1,000 watts!"

She's running (2) Polk DXi 124 DVC (Rated 360w RMS) in a shared chamber slot port box.

Hey sounds like my step mother, believes shes right even though the proof is right infront of her. And no it is not 1 ohm capable.

165 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms

200 watts x 2 at 2 ohms

400rms x1 @4

Thanks, looks like I know what I'm getting her for her Birthday... or maybe I can point her in the right direction for her to buy an amp herself.
