sony xav 65 problem

Hey everyone....so here is the problem - I bought a truck with this radio already installed. However the video playback was blocked. I took the dash panel off and noticed a broken wire where they had installed said wire to ground. I assumed this was parking brake wire. I reattached the wire thinking the video playback would work. Nope. So I thought maybe not a good ground. I intake a longer piece of wire onto the wire that was broken because it was too short to reach. When I touched the end of that wire to metal it sparked. Now the radio wont even come on. When I hit the reset button it will flash the main screen then go right back off. So the head unit still has power but won't stay on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Radio worked fine before I started meddling
