I'll be running a Fully Active front stage and am intrigued by what options Sony's 2011 headunits have to offer. Does anyone have any experience with it any of them that can comment on Sound Quality and Build Quality.

The one i'm interested in is:

DSX-S310BTX

Sony DSX-S310BTX Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com

Tune Tray Car Stereo | Digital Media Receiver | DSX-S310BTX | Sony USA

7 Band EQ

Time alignment/LowPass/HighPass

4 Volt Preouts (front, rear, subwoofer)

Bluetooth Pandora Radio Capabilities

Front USB

17x4 rms (wish it was more but that's what i get from my alpine 9887 anyway)

Also considering one of these:

Pioneer MVH-P8300BT Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com

JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

One of these will be replacing my Alpine CDA-9887, which is the best option.

I can only comment on what I have had but so far everything ive ever heard, seen touched or that was sonny and that was newer that had to deal with car audio was awful.

specifically my first head unit was one of their lower end 2010 models, when ever it drops below 50 degrees C.Ds will skip until the unit warms up and the sound quality is awful.

If you want to run active, you need a DXZ955MC and I happen to have one NIB //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif. J/K but why not keep the 9887? I don't see were the Sony you posted has bandpass crossovers.

Its in the second link on Sony's actual website.

P.s. Nothing wrong with my alpine guys just wanted to try something new and I would love to have Bluetooth functionality and radio just for my own reasons.

Got a low model DSX and love its design, how it functions, but cannot get it to sound how I want it to. No matter how I set it the highs are either too raspy or too dull, nothing in-between. I never had that problem with my Pioneer, JVC, or Kenwood units.

Bad... My sony is used to tell if batteries work on cars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif thats it...
