I really enjoy using Dire Straights - Money For Nothing. If you can find the one with the long intro, its great. Theres alot of symbols and kickdrums all happening rapidly, great for testing out the front.

personally i think the absolute best to show off the mids and high's is

Scarface - Mary Jane - on cd its one of the best crystal clear perfectly mastered songs i have ever heard. I wouldnt ever use a live album to show off the mids and highs. The guy who does all garth brooks mixing and amstering is awesome as well... I cant remember his name but he is tight...

I wouldn't show off componants with MP3's from an AUX out to an Ipod. But CD's I use are:

Diana Krall - Live in Paris

Dire Straights - Brothers in Arms

The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over

All great albums. Steely Dan has some real quality recordings as well.

I love to demo mine with anything by Rusted Root.... They have some songs that will really get those comps going (drum trip and Extacy are great for mid bass) but the whole When I woke CD will really put a smile on your face...
