something to insulate amp from metal on seat?

I just installed a new amp under my seat in my jeep wrangler. I'm getting engine whine through the speakers now. I think my ground is good but the amp is touching the metal of the car seat. Is there anything that is thin that i could use to insulate it? Am i right to think that the amp touching the metal is causing the engine noise in the speakers?

I doubt contact with the seat frame is causing the issue but you could place a thin piece of leather there to insulate, i am assuming you ran the speaker wires in the opposite direction of the amps power cables and you are using HQ interconnects (RCA) like Stinger or similar, reply back and let's fix the issue..

I replaced one set of rcas with stingers but the other set is a cheap set. Im not sure what u mean by running the speakers in the opposite direction? I have only done basic car audio stuff.

I have a sound like scratching when the engine is not on too. Im starting to think something is wrong with my stereo. My last amp had a burn spot where the remote wire went into it and my remote wire ended up being bad. Could that have caused damage to my stereo? Im not sure how to check though.

I connected wire from one set of rcas and where they connect which is connect to a cord going into the hu. The engine noise goes away. What does that mean? Are my rcas bad or is it my hu?

I ran wires from the rcas in the back of the hu and grounded it to one the screws on the hu. The noise is gone. My hu is a kenwood. I never had a problem with engine noise before the remote wire melted. I have since put in a new amp, remote wire, power wire, ground wire and front speakers.
