something negative with long port

yeah i ment if its going to hurt output, or the music, for ex DD says that the port should be 11-12" long for the best result, but mine will be twice like that.. i know that it will be a very peaky box but i will try to have it as a musicbox that can be real loud :p

If you know it will be peaky why do you want it to try to be a music box? I would find a way to cut down the port area a little> Less port area will help alot with the sound quality. Its going to sound like poo with 24 inches of port area per cube.

A longer port will just act like a 1/4 wave resonator and will give increased output around the 1/4 wave frequency associated with that length. So with a 27" long port, you will have a 1/4 wave resonance around 125hz or so, maybe a little lower if you include the width of the enclosure that shares the same plane as the port.

25.68inches tuned to 48hz, my car peaks at 58, i know it is a little much area, but if i downsize the areo ill only get a 4" wich is 11 inches? do you guys think that will be better?

and the amp that will be pushing the sub is the new DD m2a 1600rms@12V

so what do you say? 4" or 6" aero with flares?
