they got me also 6 dollars on napster and a female clothing store called wetseal for a 100 bucks. My credit card company called right away and cancelled my card.
I got a call from a fraud detection agency about 1.5 months ago. Someone tried to run a debit card of mine for a penny in a state I don't live in. They shut the card down and nothing came of it. I cancelled the account since it was a CU in Michigan and I live in Ill. Was danm close to getting in a pickle though.
it happened to me 2 yrs ago with itunes.. .99 here and .99 cents there.. I called the CC company and they said it common for them to run a few small things to make sure the card is legit. No biggey they cancealed the card issued a new one and took care of the charges.
I could care less if some one got my credit card number. That's what no questions asked fraud protection is for. And I sure as hell wouldn't make a thread if it happened.
A few months ago i got that same $1 napster charge on a debit card i have never even used. Napster says that crooks use napster to charge millions of credit cards for only $1 and nobody notices the charge amount is so small and the crooks make off with millions.
I would suggest everbody check all cards for the $1. charge as well as tell family members too.
I had the same thing happen, 2 $1 transactions at napster, 1 transation for $1.13 at like immobile.com or something like that, and like $90.00 at some photosomething website. I cancelled my card, but my bank said I have to wait until the transactions go through before I can get my money back.
