i got a Orion 2500d for $450

Orion2500D only puts out 2500 rms @ 1 ohm... We need 4000+ range amps.

And the Orion2500D gets extremely hot @ 1 ohm after a couple minutes of play:crap:

What r u crazy, i had mines under 1 ohm and it barely got warm, talk what u know buddy, u must have had a bad electrical system, i fed mines good current. He can pick up another 3500d somewhere else just offered it to him

I had it with a good electrical system and it got very hot @ 1 ohm...

My Power acoustik A2400DB never got as hot as the Orion did..

Dude i ran mines daily at .5 ohm and it never gave me a problem plus if you search many people has done this with no problems

I had it with a good electrical system and it got very hot @ 1 ohm...My Power acoustik A2400DB never got as hot as the Orion did..

I think for 2500 watts my electrical should be enough juice....

How high are your gains.

it was like half way at .5 ohm

My 2500d doesn't get that hot at 1 ohm. Its warm but it doesn't melt the skin right off my hand. I have had it at .5 for burps aswell. Didn't get much warmer.

Thanks for the offer on that 2500d, but I am going to need that power at 1 ohm. That speaker is dual 2, so running it at .5 is not likely. That price is about what I was hoping to spend on my amps though. I just need more power than that.

I have heard of people running their 2500d at .25 ohm for burps and .5 for daily and never heard of that being a problem. Keep in mind that every amp is not going to preform exactly like the next, every amp has a different output than the one made before it. That is why they do birthsheets and what not. Maybe that has something to do with why it was getting so hot. Maybe you just got a bad one.

Always got the rockford fosgate 30001bd/400001bd ut they will be pricy. Let mek now what you decided. Althought not solo-x, but another project.

I am leaning toward the zx2500/300001bd/ opti 4000D. Mostly toward the opti as that is ~$850. I can only use 1 amp and 16v isn't a problem for me. is it for you?

You may look at the ma audio 802sx if you can provide it 16V. It will do 4400@1 ohm. Wouldn't drop it at 1/2 though. The HK-4000D is also an option

i bought this amp and stuck it to an audiobahn immortal 12" sub and get massive bass and all it caused my back window on my civic and my rear bumper to fall of if thats any clue to the massive power
