SolidWorks

i just took a massive shit from all of the food and beer i took in last night
I did that already this morning. The girls made some brownies and some dips, and the guys got a pony keg, it was perfect.

I prefer 3D Studio Max or AutoCAD, but need to learn more SolidWorks.
I prefer SW to AutoCAD, and I prefer both of those programs over NX7 (NX7 is the worst 3D modeling program ever made). 3DSMax is more an animation program than it is a CAD program, imo.

Have you ever tried Alibre or ProE? Both are pretty good for smaller part modeling or detailing on a 3D set up.

Never heard of them, Every engineering firm I've ever been involved with has used solidworks.

Thi is for me.

AutoCad for 2d.

Solidworks for 3d and simulation as well as animation.

Rhino is the worst cad program I have ever used. I had to use it for my 1st internship.

I used proE for about 2 weeks. Hated it but have heard the simulations are very good.

Alibre can be picked up quick. Crossbow and Archer are GUI over lay's to the old BRLCAD I used for years when gov't. Both are fairly understandable when you get the hang of it.
