As I was reading this thread, a report came on CNN saying that the US was calling up more reserves for Iraq. I think/hope that the amount of soilders that we have over there right now is the most we are going to have and that the number will slowly go down. I really would wish too that Americans would support their own government. People criticize everything now days. It makes me mad. I can't think of how fortunate I am that I live in the United States. I don't have to worry about being blown up by ******* bombers, or being kidnapped by cracked out people.
People say we shouldn't have gone to war...Does no one remember September 11th?! Bush was bold and took action, and I doubt there will ever be as bad of an attack on America as September 11th within the next 50 years now. Clinton was a coward. When they blew up a bomb in the WTC, what did he do? Nothing. He played it safe because he didn't want to go to war and be criticized, and now thousands more lost their lives.
As for Micheal Moore...I wish he would just leave the US. Documentary my ***. Every person he interviews is democratic. Every person. Does he get a fair and accurate point of view from both sides? HAHA! And does anyone remember the part in the movie where he says that the goverment let out Bin Ladin's family out of the US while all other planes were grounded? Oh wait...he never said this...

The film states clearly that these flights left after September 13 (the day the FAA began to slowly lift the ban on air traffic). No, Iraq was not involved... they may have approved afterwards, but the hijackers were saudi's and Al-Qaeda, which have no link to Iraq. Oh wait, they do now after we invaded Iraq and made many (not all) Iraqi's angry and want revenge, and join Al-Qaeda to seek that out.
Do ya'll really believe everything you hear? People can get anything now-a-days. If someone from the US wanted a passport from lets say China, do you think it would be impossible for them to do that? Ever heard of identity theft or people cracking into banks across the globe. I'm sure making a fake passport is a piece of cake compared to that.

Actually the bin Laden family is from Saudi Arabia and that is known... but whatever i hate political conversations anyways, all they do is make people dislike each other. I am now withdrawing from this conversation.

I just worry because I am 16 now... and even though it is HIGHLY unlikely, this could turn into something like nam and I don't feel like getting drafted or something. And yes I know a draft is very unlikely.
You dont have to worry about a draft thats something that will probly never happen again, they have more reserves, national guard, and inactive reserves, even though they jsut called up like 6500 of them. Plus theyll start telling people "Join the army or go to jail" again before they draft.
hey there bayarea dont you feel like defending your country and helping out at all. Ohh i forgot that San Francisco is the liberal capital of the world. No the draft wont come back. Mainly for 2 reasons first of all, all the liberal bleeding hearts in congress will do everything in their power to stop it. Second most branches of the military do not and i repeat do not want the majority or the youth out there today. The Marine Corps for one will not let itself go back to the days of Vietnam when the moral was low, no discipline and just the freaking trash of society was trying to bring it down. We have moved past that and will not let it happen again. Then again this is the point of view or a Marine who is more than willing to go fight and die for this country so people like you can live in it and say what you want. No thanks nessecary just look out in the future for anybody who might be in trouble and need that little help. ... you know some old lady needing a tire changed or something like that.
You cant really get on him, well i guess you can. Yeah im in the army now, but its not all gravy, if someone doesnt want to take that responsibility thats their decision, you are defending that freedom for him, so you cant get on him when he uses that freedom that you are fighting for. I didnt know how to put that without sounding that way.
