You will ahve to heat up the metal, then when it is heated enough, touch the solder to the spot where you heated, solder will be in a roll and when you touch the end to the heated place, it will melt on the metal, to make it look nice take a damp rag and cool of the melted solder around the metal, it makes it look smooth and nice.
