I'm looking for a good (preferably free) program that can keep track of my budget, I'm only 19, and with the way I have been spending money lately, I will always be broke. I'm not poor, but definitely not wealthy, so I find that a budget will help me A LOT, and make sure I always have enough money for my daughter, which I do. And be able to save up for my daughter when she is older. I have started a savings account for her already, which gets $200 monthly into it, but I have found with all these extra little spending sprees, I have to get some money out for gas, or diapers. It's not very often, but that money is for my daughter's future, although all that is taken out is only for her well being, to me it's still not acceptable. I have looked into quicken, but not sure if I want to spend the money on it if I don't have to. Any one feel like helping me out? I've tried a few 'free' wares, but it turned out 'too good to be true.' Thanks!

A budget will help, but it can only help so much ... Common sense, as mentioned, is the biggest factor .. If you want to save more, start cutting more luxuries, buy commonly used items in bulk, eat out only on special occasions, etc.

Agreed, common sense is really the only way you can save money..or have money transfered into an ING account and since its a pain in the ass to get to it you'll leave it alone and it will build interest for ya at the same time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

your 19 and have a baby...that sux....awful decision imo even if it was unplanned - always rap it..im 19 couldnt even imagine having a baby

caraudio should be the least of your priorities

alot of people say you dont need to use these programs just write down a piece of paper where ur money is going. its easier to visualize how much ur waisting if you see it. when you realize stupid stuff like all the money you spend toward fast food and eating out youll be able to cut alot from your budget.

Microsoft Money can be found pretty easily.

If you have a credit card, MANY of them now have online budgeting. I use bank of america and all of my funds are on there showing my spending habits, where i need to ease up etc.

i just look online at my bank statements which are updated on the minute. lol

though truely it leads down to common sense. you have to realize what is a necessity and what it pleasure.

get your prorites straight. then have fun, just not too much fun.

And, by "build interest" you mean lose money due to inflation ?
