so would you?

Get your self $140,000 in debt, take up 10-12 years of your life, and introduce a high level of stress into your life? I'm thinking about doing it, average pay in my area is 240,000k annually.

Just not sure if the money is worth the trip getting there.
are you dedicated to finish? if yes, then go for it

my dream would be to design circuits for car audio amplifiers, but i know that most likely will not happen. i'd be happy making 80k a year designing something for computers or whatever.
Most likely no. And the usual (unfortunate) reason for that is car audio amplifiers don't exactly change much from model to model. Most of them use the same basic concepts and don't need a fleet of EE's to design.

80k is definitely possible, just don't expect it right out of school. Then again, if your degree is a 7 year program that may put you in a different bracket than your standard EE (me).

I started out in E.E. for that same reason... didn't last long. All we learned about were computers and shit so I got an MBA
That's because there's a lot more to electrical engineering than just circuits. EE has a little CSE (computer science eng.) and CSE has a little EE, they are very related which is why it's fairly easy to go dual-major and get a degree in both.

yeah im not expecting to. that would just be cool. i know they all stay the same. or i could design my own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif
The way I look at it, you can't always do what you love and even if you could you may grow to hate it and lose interest in it as a hobby, but as long as you at least LIKE what you do, then that can pay for your hobbies (i.e. audioz.....and motorcycles).

and hookers and cocaine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Yeah being in school sucks financially, I at least had the benefit of doing a few co-ops and made $17/hr for about 2 years. But I wasn't very responsible with that money and the last year of school I was pretty broke, haha. Hence the $7.70/hr job I have right now.

haha hey at least you landed a bomb *** job. more audio ftw!

haha that shouldnt be to bad
Yeah, not as bad as my medical friends who are looking at 100k-150k, ha.

Are you in school now? What school?

I was going to school for computer engineering, but then I dropped out after a few weeks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Hey I have a question. Are you sure you're smart enough to pass the classes and tests retard? It's one thing to go to school, it's another to pass and graduate. Just sayin...
you are joking right? I know your still butthurt and all, but that is straight up hilarious.

im sure his uncle will land him a job no problem.
He already said he would when I was going to go into it before. There are jobs open right now as well, but I don't think they will last 10 years.
