so would you?

Well I want to go into the medical field along with my Uncle. I'm not exactly sure on the length of schooling needed but I know for a fact it's not a 4year course. I haven't started looking into grants or scholarships yet, I did a quick search and see average it's right around 100k-150k for schooling and supplies.

My uncle who is head of surgery at a large hospital in Neb. should be back this Sunday for Easter, I'll talk to him about it. I'm sure he will have some pointers. My second choice is a business management degree but the jobs here at that bracket are down to 50k-60k a year.

I should really point out that in my area you can live very comfortably at 50k a year.

well would you like doing it? Id much rather make 60k a year doing something i love then double or so that doing a job i mf hate. we had the oppurtunity to talk with a heart surgeon and the nurses that work the room with him. He pretty much stated 15-20 hour days. works saturdays, good pay, sucky lifestyle, great to help people, eventually becomes easy for him. lots of school, yada yada yada. So if you want to work all the time. go for it. and btw. Money is only a small aspect of life.. what about all the things money wont get you.

Eh if I wasn't working I'd be sleeping. The way I see it there is a reason it pays so well, not like I'm going to work 9-5 flipping burgers. I also live in a low (no) population area so I won't have it as bad as the bigger city guys.

Join the Army man. Get your 4 year bachelors degree and then you can join the Army under the AMEDD program and you are a full time Soldier as a commisioned officer making great pay while you do the remaining time to become either a RN or a doc. It takes a while, but at least you will be making great money while going to school full time, great benefits, and you still get to shoot and blow sh*t up sometimes
