its because they want their woman to be dependant on them. if she makes enough money to support herself then she might leave. its all about control and people who cant control their own life feel the need to control others.

I hate seeing people use money to control a relationship. I have never been in such a situation, but I have seen it with both men and women being control freaks. I can't imagine using the fear of someone's livelihood, wellbeing, or just peace of mind being jepordized. They are sociopaths.

Agreed.... My wife USE to be that way in the beginning while we were just dating but i changed that lol(we split for alittle i gave her the cold shoulder for about a month. most text and calls ive had in one month lol). Ive put up wit ALOT of BS from her in the short 4yrs we have been together, we have only been married for 2 tho. . but the BS dealt made us stonger couple overall, i dont think many guys would have put up with what i did(no cheating or nothing just pure stupidity lol) and for that reason is why i know im in love with her lol.

ANYONE who says sh1t gets worse or changes after marriage is full of it. Our relationship got better from that point and has continued to. I thinks that only happens if the 2 people let. JUST my .02

Haven't worked in 6 years since I tore my acl and mcl was working 70-80hrs a week now the wife works 40+ a week. I do the cooking and she keeps the house clean. She told me not too long ago that me stopping working was great. I was at home for the kids as they went through high school. They are all done now and offered to go back to work and she told me NO! so I said fk it and started taking classes online just for something to do.
