my dad called me and said he bought me a 2006 Monte Carlo, it has a 135amp alt...... should i upgrade that? imma make another thread asking about system suggestions then i'll figure out what amps and how many then yall can let me knoe how big of a alt i would need

135 is a good sized alt...unless you're running 1500+ watts, I wouldn't worry about upgrading it...big 3 first if anything.

how would we tell you if you need to upgrade you alternator when you don't even know what system you want? No I wouldnt change the alternator thats pretty good size. Big three like stated before and that should do the trick.

its all good man just saw your other thread and you will have so many options with that much money. I have 2 Id max's running infinite baffle off of a powerbass 3000d and spent less than that. Also got my front stage thats in my sig for all under that price. Look on here for some used things and you will have a really good system.

well i got the 06 impala with the 135 amp alt + stock batt and was pushing the PA a3000db @ .35 ohms daily HARD on a 18" BTL. That alt is pretty nice IMO. Amp got hot but never shut off for 6 months. Another thing i love is that theres a grommet that could fit about 6 runs of 0 gauge through it.
