I think thats all a matter of opinion, and like they were saying before, good rap has far too much substance for the MTV crowd.

Not even close to a top-10 list of best lyricists. Know why? Because his lyrics are horrible, say the same thing over and over, and he has a "oh shit, I just said that" kind of tone whenever he regurgitates the same ol' shit over and over. He's not even close to a REAL rapper, just a media hyped midget who can't rap to save his life.

His freestyle is shit; he has no vocabulary whatsoever.
There's a big difference when listen to someone like Wayne and someone like Common, Mos Def, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, etc...one(Wayne) sounds like an obnoxious teenager wannabe thug who dropped out of middle school and talks about money, cars, and hoes all the time. The other (real rappers) have a level of intelligence in their lyrics, lyrics that make you think and that actually talk about real life, problems, etc. They also have an intelligent delivery/flow instead of trying to sound like a badass all of the time, acting like what they (Wayne) just said was the shit...when it's nothing more than them same ol' thing everyone (shitty rappers) are saying..

lyrics that make you think? every time i listen to a song i visualize what the artist is saying and if your lost when listening to weezy that just means you cant keep up...... he says some of the craziest shit i ever heard... u would have to listen to his mixtapes to know what im saying .....now i know common and mos def could freestyle but when have they ever put out a hit single??? see people are just hating on lil wayne b cuz hes whats hot right now..people did the same thing to eminem and whoever says eminem or wayne sucks should just stop listening to hip hop/ rap.....

Now Nas....can write lyrically unlike anyone ive heard. his flow is amazing, and the content he puts in there is crazy considering he has an 8th grade education. his lyrics have a message, flow, and are very good. definitly one of the rappers i study lyrics of most.

ok i was wrong about not having hits but how long were those songs in rotation until people got sick of them.......now common i would like more if he had some better beats............i agree with you on nas completley....and eminems fire went out due to personal problems i believe
