So is RE officially Dead?

didnt say i do, said i will. i think i was close to or over 150 with my 15's, but ones sold and the others probably sold. when they release the new line next month i'm buying a pair of 18's and building a new box for my explorer.

i SERIOUSLY doubt i'll have any trouble doing 150+

hell 1 can hit 153.3 with 1 18 re mt

All the power to you and good luck

RE is not dead. They just alienated their loyal customers in order to turn a bigger profit off of unsuspecting rich kids who don't know any better than to go to a dealer and buy the most expensive thing on the wall.
Dead? No. Just dead to us.
you do realize direct sales were NEVER re's main forte, right? they have always had dealers, they didnt alienate but a small percentage of their customers...

kenny did 154.4 MECA style at the kicks on a 40 hz tone. He also did 150.xx on some Young Jeezy. Once he finds the correct frequency to burp at for his car, he could easily pull another 2 0r 3 dBs out of it.

k you say that while you slam your mtx 7500. i'll laugh at you while i top 150 db with 2 fi 18's that cost half what re's would.

untill we get are shipment of RE at my shop and i do up a 15" SX in a 4 cube ported box and feed it 1200+ watts and yank down a mid 140 of a single sub in a x cab truck. not 100% on tuning but mid 30s sounds right. it sure sucks to buy gear at cost. how long to u think FI is goin to be around. if it wasnt for US buying RE there days would have been numberd as well down the line. it seams like ever since RE got huge backing and there designer left and started FI every one seams to hate RE. last year u guys had a massive bonner over everything RE. news flash, RE still isnt main stream, there still a hardcore audio company. when box stores like circut city and best buy and shit start to carie them i would start to condsider them sell outs

Not to mention all the costs of dealing with the customer service from the internet sales as opposed to the dealers handling the problems at the shops.

They have always had dealers, yes, but in many places, they are relatively hard to find. I still have to drive at least 2 hours to get to the nearest dealer. In cases like mine, and I'm sure there are many, the ability to buy direct is a huge selling point. If I lived in LA, NY, or chicago, and could easily find just about every brand under the sun within a relatively short distance, my opinion might be different. My point is that if I wanted to buy RE now as compared to before they went to a full-blown delaer network, I would first have to spend around $60 on gas to get to the nearest dealer, then pay a price that is much higher than it was when they had direct pricing. For many of us, RE just doesn't compete with other companies out there anymore. Performance-wise, they are still great, but the bang for the buck factor is pretty much gone.

You think they don't still have to deal with customer service problems now that they went to a dealer network? They still get calls and have to do CS for their products all the time. Now their direct CS just isn't as good from what I've heard.

Get me the products at dealer cost, and I might be interested again.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ill agree the the bang for your buck factor as gone down but that is still no means to bash RE. im not rippin on FI, i would love to buy a Q or even have a chance to listen to the BTL, as it does have a unbeatable price, but im not kean of buyin over the internet for warenty issues and such, that and i work at a RE dealer so why not

With Fi, the whole warranty thing isn't really a problem. They take GREAT care of their customers and never hesitate to help you out if you have a problem. Even when people have messed up their BTLs (which have no warranty because it is made for overly extreme use). If you can get RE for a competitive price, go right ahead. But when they want $2000+ on woofersetc for 1 18" XXX, I'll pass.

4 18" Fully-loaded BTLs >>>>>>>>> 1 18" XXX for the same price.
