Is that comparable to the brain power a chameleon uses to change their skin?
I dunno about Chameleon's......but large cephalopods (squid) can have something like 20 million pigmentation pouches on their skin that they need to control, and control each one independently. I can only imagine the amount of brain processing needed for that.

its funny what you think of when you are not in the right state of mind. the universe is way too big to just have us as it only real living life form. but i think we are so far apart that we will never come in contact with them. thats probably better off for us because i think if humans knew that there were more living things out there they would freak out.

PS: post 1000

On the flip side.....out of the hundreds of millions of life forms on earth, us stupid humans are the only species to become "intelligent". Those are some pretty small odds. It's suprising that even we are here. But, sheer happenstance. The right sequence of events happened, and here we are.
But, expanding that. Look at how unlikely it is that we became intelligent. Chances of that sequence of events happening again to create intelligent life out there are very low. However, when you are dealing with infinite amounts of space, IMHO the odds of those unlikely events happening elsewhere only increases due to the limitless opportunities afforded by limitless space.
So I take it your an evolutionist? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Fuk squid..
Squid are only good for catching Amberjack and Red Snapper..

in South Korea, most people LOVE squid! they eat it daily! i seen it there while visiting my cousin who was teaching english. did u know, they eat BUTTERED squid in the movie theaters. you buy it in small boxes. it's like "squid jerky" kinda raw. i smelt some weird fish smell, and when i looked beside my, there it was. Also, you can buy kinda of burnt squid that they roast on the streets. Tons of squid street vendors. IMO stinks like hell when its burning!!

Nope. Unh uh. Don't know what you're talking about.

Ok to get you guys really thinking hard...

Get ready....ok so here we are on planet earth, with several other planets around us. none of which we know absolutely sure if they have life on them. the planets including us revolve around the sun. stay with me now...what if there is a planet exactly like ours on the opposite side of the sun on the same orbital track as us? would we ever see it? NO, because of the fact that both planets will revolve at the same speed. even if we did spend the money to send a probe out to take pics how could we see the pics if we couldnt get the probe back? there might be an answer to this that im not thinkin of....but just my 2 cents.

They have found planets that revolve around a star like the sun..

Problem is they are 400 million light years away..

Not to mention there are around 100 billions Stars alone in our galaxy..

Even if there were life on other planets, we cant communicate with them..

5,870,000,000,000 miles is how far light travels in a YEAR!!

Voyager 1 launced in 1977 is at around 6 billion miles away from earth or there abouts..

5,870,000,000,000 light travelled in a year

6,000,000,000 futherest manmade object so far in space

still 5.86 billion miles short of just 1 light year.. and its taken 18 years..

.. and their are 13 billion more light years to go......

76,310,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles

give or take..

Teloscopic imaging from the moon would have found it. Seeing how its not on the same plane. That was easy lets try a harder one! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thats a lot of brain power.

Maybe that would be easier if you didnt have to worry about things like taxes and our presdident... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Trippy thing to think about is..What if we did find another planet with life forms on it...and they were just like us..Technology wise, culture wise...everything. It'd be like looking into a mirror but being able to smack the person u see...

We'd haveto be awfully conceited to believe that we are the only intelligent life in the universe.

SETI has uncovered some fairly interesting things over the years.

Personally, as corny as it sounds, I think our future in space travel, other races, etc, is likely to follow a Star Trek type model. Many of our technological advances have come from a "Trek" inspiration, so logically, this would as well.

What advances have come form a Star Trek? Elaborate!!!
