So I finally got my AB VFL 150.4 installed....

I get to my shop and both my salesman and my installer have the day off. So I told the manager I would like to reschedule so my normal installer could change out the amp. He says since they are doing this as a courtesy if I change the appointment I would be charged $25 for missing today's appointment. I should have just said fine and paid the smug bastard, but like an idiot I thought it's just an amp swap, how hard can it be?

So an hour, yes an hour!! later they bring me my key fob back. I get in the car and low and behold what do I hear?? ****** noise again!! This time its not alt noise but none the less a high pitched whine. I was so pissed, I took a minute to calm myself and went back inside and told the manager that the install has noise again. He says Oh yeah, we heard that but its the amp, nothing we can do about it, and he gives me this smug look. I have to tell you, it took everything in me to keep from knocking him the **** out, I mean I came really close but decided he wasn't worth going to jail over.

I walked back out to my car, got the list of ALL my previous purchases that they printed off for me a while ago, this list goes back 15 years. I showed him the total at the bottom and asked him Nothing you can do, huh? Ok, I will forward this list here along with a letter to the owner explaining how you treated me the last couple of times I have been in here and how you, and only you, have lost my business for the company. The assistant manager comes over in the middle of this(the same guy that backed me up on the pico fuse issue last time) and tries to say something. The manager cuts him off and says I got this and puts his hand up in his face basically telling him to shut up.

I say that I am done and start to walk out, the assistant manger calls me by name (he and my salesman are the only two guys that always call me by name) and asks me to wait. The manager says no, **** that fat *** he can leave. I whirled around and I hear the assistant manager scream what the f*ck did you just call that customer? Are you f*cking kidding me?!! Shane dude, I am so f*cking sorry man. Bring your car around back and I will take a look at it. The manager tries to say something and he puts his hand in his face and says shut up! I got this!

Anyway, to make a long story short, he takes one look at the amp and sees that the gain is set to max for both front and rear! They didn't even set the f*cking gains! He was pissed, asked the installer that did the work why the gains were maxed out and he said that the manager told him to do it that way! He took about 20 mins and set the gains (I hope properly). He told me he totally understood if I never came back again, but said he would be happy to work with me so I didn't have to go through the manager at all, if he still has a job. He said no one else would ever get away with that, but that he was buddies with the owner.

After the gains were properly set, no more whine. Imagine that!!

 
i hope the ONE guy the assistant manager took a lok at everything else. do yourself a favor and take a pic of the amps settings and post them up on here so we can verify that **** isnt all stupid. i woulda knocked that foo out if he called me that ****.

Everything else looks like its set to default or off settings, crossovers are set to full. I am using the HU for crossovers. I will try to take a pic and post it here tomorrow to make sure.

 
Oh, I also forgot they had the front and rear channels mixed up! He had to swap the RCA's (yes he took off the neg battery cable first). It's obvious the manager wanted to f*ck with me.

 
Id still get ahold of the owner about how that kok is treating customers tell him the assistant manager deserves a promotion.... That business won't last for long with customers being treated like that
