Beatin' the block down
Ok, so I went to my home town last weekend to spend some time w/ the family.
On the way, I stopped at Wal-Mart in Winnsboro, La (hwy 15 on my way home) to grab a few jig heads and skirts for white perch fishing that weekend.
So, I brought my ~$20 purchase to the sporting goods counter to check out....but, then I saw an AR15 variant in the gun case.
Dam-it...I had to look at it. Bushmaster XM-15 M4A2 90289 (M-forgery)
I bought it.
2 other guys tried to buy it while I was filling out the 4473.
So now, I have my old Armalite M15A4 (Middy-gas) H-BAR w/ railed gas block and my new Bushmaster XM-15 (carbine-gas) w/ FSB.
Both with basic tapco furniture. ODG on the Armalite, black on the Bushy.
My Armalite has ODG furniture, so I have Magpul rear BUIS, a micro red dot and flip-to-side (cheaper Burris mount) 3x multiplier. I have been looking around online to try and find a MI or Troy flip up front BUIS, but everywhere I look they are out of stock.
I also have a raised mount and a 2.5-10x40 scope for this rifle, but I have to pull all the other optics to mount this scope.
So, now I'm thinking about pulling the micro-dot w/ 3x flip-to-side off my Armalite...and putting it on my new Bushy M-forgery. And go back to my scope on the middy H-Bar Armalite.
Any CA.com AR-people care to chime in?
Anyone had any range time w/ the Bushmaster XM-15's???
EDIT:
On a side note, I have yet to fire this new Bushmaster XM-15. It came w/ a detachable carry-handle/rear site.
I have about 100rnds of 55gr Tula steal case and 100rnds of LC 55gr reloads I'm willing to play with in this Bushy, but damit the stock trigger is SH1T. I plan to polish the trigger group ASAP.
I know my old Armalite w/ the 40mm scope is a nail driver. Back in November I shot 4 out of 6 at solo-cups full of water at 365yrds w/ hand loaded 62gr rounds.
