Smoked a crappy tsunami fuse.

So I used to keep blowing 80 amp AGU fuses and i thought that my 8 gauge ground was the problem since im running about 1800w rms witha 4guage power cable. so I uped my ground to 4 gauge and that seemed to stop the problem except like 5 minutes ago I litterally smoked a fuse... It appears they are a 4 peices ( 2 end caps, middle bar where its supposed to sepparate , and a glass cover. also i noticed it shoots out a brown liquid that smells awfulw hen u blow these type. also does .5ohm load cause it to draw more amps? i dont think it does however my father is asking and i dont know a 100% answer to give.

Yes a .5 ohm load causes it to draw a LOT more current. That is your problem. You're probably lucky that you have only smoked the fuses and not the amp itself. I doubt it's stable at that load.

yeah, im thinking the .5 ohm it the problem.

for 4ga wire you should be able to fuse the wire to 120amps

edit: didn't relize you had that big of an amp. really need to upgrade that wiring to like 0ga

Dur. This is simple.

Upgrade your wiring & stop trying to pull 1800 rms through 80 amp fuses.

maybe its just me....but yeah your power wire is too small, your ground wire is too small as well. In my opinion, people overlook the importance of the ground wire...your ground should be at least as big as your power wire. And that liquid is the plastic fuse casing melting
