smallest ported box ever

well, i had a q-logic dual 12 sealed box that i haven't used in a couple months, and have no desire to use ever again, so i put it on craigslist, and within about a day someone said they wanted it. he lived a ways away from me, but was nice enough to drive most of the way to meet this evening.

i pulled the box out, and he said, "hey, that box is a bit bigger than the one i have now" i asked what box he had and he said he had a vented box, and wanted to go sealed for better sound quality. then he offered to show me his current box, and popped his trunk and i saw the smalled ported box ever!

i'm guessing it was about 28 x 14 x 12 but mayben not even that deep. of course it had two tiny round ports //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it had to be around 0.5 ft^3 per chamber and probably tuned higher than my low pass crossover point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

anyways, that story had no point except that the average consumer is really clueless. hopefully his sony xplod's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif will be happier in a sealed box.

Two 0.25 cube enclosures tuned to 40 hz for two Dayton Alum 7" woofers for midbass duties. Enclosures were installed in the footwells in my Ranger. For the most part they were out of the way... but not enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Plus they were too small, so they got a little peaky around 100-120 hz or so...

PS after 2+ years here 200 posts!!! I used to do more than that per week at Termpro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
