ok so advantages and disadvantages of putting a smaller pulley on your alt.

i want it to charge up the battery at lower rpms but not lose it at the higher rpms. will that happen

it will charge better at lower rpms but i cant guarantee it want lose at higher end rpms

agreed. but a normal driver won't see much of a difference. you may notice it a little if you have a lead foot.

really do you think it would help out?? until i can get an ho alt? i drive like a granny ha so no worry about that. i also have the big three done. but if the alt goes out i have a lifetime warranty and it literally is easier to change it out than the oil lol. it takes like 10 mins

hey this was what i was told if its true i dont know. a smaller pulley would help the alt spin faster. And the alt would some what trick the engine to thinking its at a higher rmp 1200 or so. and that could help with dimming at idle. thats what this guy told me that works on cars. its a under drive pulley what ever that means.

try a small pully first like 2 inch pully maybe 3 inch

i think it could work but could it cuz your alt to wear out faster. i do mean were all puting extra stress on our alts even if its a ho alt. im trying to understand the pulley thing . cuz its like 20 bucks or so

yea but does it decrease output at higher rpm's? i am not worried about stressing it and making it work harder shit i am already doing that might as well do it with a lil more output. if it goes out all i have to di is go to auto zone and swap it out for free anytime.

not so much more output. it just spins faster at idle. whats throwing me off does that mean higher out put i guess so. what does it do when u get on the gas . if u end up lets say puting out the full amps your alt can put out at idle cuz of a smaller pulley then your fine but will that do somthing to your engine mayb run hotter. burn more gas im thinking

Burn more gas because you have a smaller pully on your alt?

I am no genius but I am assuming the smaller pully will just make it spin a little faster... Whether you are idling or driving..
