I have an Acura MDX with a rear cargo compartment I'd like to sink a sub into. I can go up to about .8cuft and keep it level with the floor, but the sub can only be 5 1/2" deep (from grill to magnet). I have an Arc Audio fd2100 amp (50x2 or 190x1). I prefer tight bass over too much boom. Plus I'll be doing a high to low off the OEM sub amp -- there may be some OEM EQ processing added.
Any opinions on the Boston Acoustics G110-4? That seems to fit what I'm looking for, but don't know how it sounds. Rockford P3 shallow mount is another option, but the Rockford rep (not the dealer, but the rep) said I'd be better off with 2 normal depth P1 8" as the shallow 10 doesn't have enough throw to play as a 10 should (said its more for pickups). I could also do a single 8" with a ported enclosure. I have vented dual 8" home speakers and they sound amazing... but that's a whole different deal... and if there is some funky OEM EQ processing it could make for a mess.
Thanks.
