small sealed with about 500 watts

I remember when I bought my RL-P12 a while back, v2 MAG was the shiznit. I thought it would be a decent choice. I am open to others. I don't want to spend more than 100-150 though... All those fall within that.

I also have a 2.1ft^3 tuned to 29hz that I could use it it works for any of these.

I have had tons of different subs and never seem to keep them very long until I got my SSD Icon 12. For smallish sealed enclosures and that kind of power I think it is a great mix of SPL and SQ. The Icon is somewhat similar to the SE so you can't really go wrong either way. I haven't heard the Mag but I am guessing the Icon to be louder than the Magv3.

I looked at the SSA Icon when i got my RLP and it is a very nice woofer. A little too much money for now though.

Glad to hear about the DIYMA. How much power were you feeding it? Did you ever get metered with it? Thanks

I'll take that challenge to the ICON being louder than the Mag v3. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The icon has a lower BL^2/Re than the Mag v3 and the icon has about 10 mm less one-way linear travel than the Mag v3 (but that has little to do with which one is louder...just which one remains more linear over what range of stroke).

And before I forget, I thought you were going for a small sealed box? 2 ft^3 is pretty big for a single 12" woofer.

I'm also curious why you're looking for a v2 Mag when the v3 Mag was an improved model (better output, better SQ, handled more power).

For SQL, I'd lose the R12 from your list. Sure they're inexpensive right now, but it won't provide the output that you're probably looking for.

I am looking at the V2 because it is available at a decent price. I sent you the email last night about the V3 and would have bought it stat. I can get the V2 for the same price you were offering the V3. (I know its not AS GOOD of a deal.)

I don't want to go larger than 2ft^3 for the sealed. I think smaller than that, going towards 1.25 and 1ft^3, becomes small. I guess it's all relative.

Nice try mistrass! It is still in the back of my mind. I have a RL-P in my house. I want to get something new for the car.
