Well, I was really bored and staring at the scrap pieces of wood so I went and took a hammer to the little tiny particle board "ported box" that came with the 8" woofer for my surround sound system.
I measured up all the pieces I had and came up with a box that was 8" tall, and 12" deep and wide. It's a little short stubby cube that will get some feet and it'll be downfiring in the corner of my room or something.
Anyways, this box is constructed with NO SCREWS to prove that it is in fact the wood glue combined with good quality cuts and joints that keeps a box together.
Here's the side and the bottom of the box glued and clamped together
Sides and the bottom assembled
Last sides put on and I cut out the circle. Queer *** circle guide of mine only goes down to like a 9 1/2" circle and I needed a 7" circle, so this was all free hand. Not bad for wingin' it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Itty bitty moofa installed and I rounded over the face to make it look a little nicer. It'll get a finish sand and a coat of paint + more sanding + more paint shortly.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, it's like 0.45 cubic feet and it's getting like 80W RMS and already sounds better than that ***-pile of a box that came with it, could use a bit of polyfill though to smooth out the highs and extend the lows a tad. For a little 8" though, it fills in my room nicely for music and movies. Nothing crazy but hey, it was all free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
