Got two of these w/recone kits from 4OZGLOVES, but I'm only running one of them. It's being powered by the rear channels of a PG Xenon X200.4 (400 x 2 bridged at 2-8 ohms). I have the sub wired to 8-ohms, trying to get the amp to be as efficient as possible.
Like I said I'm only running one of them, I'm *trying* to build a sub-stage that blends well with my front stage (PPI 356CS). I figure 400+ watts to a beefy 8 would do the job..
So I've had this amp installed for about 2 weeks now, and today I cleaned up the wiring a little bit. Lmk what you guys think. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I have the gain turned up about 60% and the sub handles the power like a champ, and on the h/u the gain is set at +6 for the sub. The sub has crazy xmax, more so then I've ever seen in person.
It sounds GREAT. Very clean, and it blends very well with my front stage. It packs quite the punch (no pun intended) for such a small woofer. It really surprised me with its output.
Anyway, on to the pics. The box is roughly .50 cu ft sealed, RF recommends .1 - .5, with .33 being optimal. I built the box entirely out of scrap wood, $$ is tight so I couldn't afford to paint/cover it or make it look much nicer, I don't have much for sand paper laying around. Moving in to a house next week so I'm trying to pinch every penny that I have.
