Yes it was him as mentioned earlier. Most of the plane burnt up in the crash. Minimal damage to building. All 4 apartments affected were vacant. The engine was found in one of the aprtments, the metal parts of the plane that didnt burn up ended up in the street below. They are guestimating Cory may have been avoiding another plane when he crashed. Apparently the skies in that particular airspace can get a little crowded. Of course, this may just be a case of pilot error, as Cory had only been flying around 6 months. THere are 2, not 4 people confirmed dead as of now. It was a small, fixed wing, single engine aircraft. They had it tracked on radar as it circled the statute of liberty and headed up the east river. This is the point where radar contact was lost, of course if the plane was in a descent, which it may have been before it hit the building, explains why radar was lost, as it is inaffective below a certain altitude.It was Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle who crashed his plane. He's dead. About 4 people total are reported dead as of now. 5:00 pm EST
