Well, finally got my audio installed. I did not document the process well, but I have some finished photos to share.
This is what I started with (Waiting on a set of 6.5's for the sound bar still)
Installed a JVC KD-R730BT headunit last week and mounted the bluetooth microphone right below the gauge cluster. Seems to work pretty well.
The rest of the equipment is:
1x Audiopipe AP15001D Amplifier for the subs
1x Audiopipe AP2004 Amplifier for speakers
Polk DB521 Speakers
NalinMFG Speaker Adapters
2x Sundown Audio SA8v2 Subwoofers
All wiring is from Amp Installation Kits, HDMI Cables
I installed the speakers and adapters first (but have no pictures).
Modeled the box in Google Sketchup before I began cutting any wood.
1.5 cu/ft net tuned to 34hz
Made some changes as I built it (such as moving the subwoofers over, and building the cutout for the door hinge). This is the first subwoofer enclosure I've ever built, so it's a bit rough, but turned out alright. Going to carpet it at some point, but for now I just threw some cheap bedliner on it.
Couldn't find a place to mount these two amplifiers, so I settled on under the back seat. Hopefully I won't have problems with overheating in the summer, but we will just have to wait and see. Not super clean, but it's under a seat so who really cares?
Everything sounds great! At low levels, it sounds perfect. At higher levels, the bass is surprising. Very very loud for a pair of 8" subwoofers.
Just wanted to share with you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.
