small amplifiers

i need one to power some alpine door speakers.

this is the setup ill be running.

attaching the amp to the door isnt a good idea....

slam the door enough times and your amp will sound like a box of cereal!

ive seen it done with alot of competition cars around here. i only thought id be right doing the same. no room under the seat. i guess ill have to put the second amp in the trunk too. oh well. any ideas about what kind of amp i should get? something to push enough watts in the front alpines and rear 6x9's.

any simple 40 RMS X 4 @ 4 ohm or more would do fine.

Amps in doors = fail!

running power and ground through the doors just doesn't sound like a good idea. R U sure what you saw weren't crossovers? I'd rather run speaker wires than RCAs, power, ground, and remote lines through the door.

SQ competitors can get away with stuff as their cars sit on trailers or in shops when not at a show. Daily driving and amps in the door just sounds like a recipe for disaster. (what about water running down when it rains?)

i second what djman says, competition/ show cars like those are mostly always garage kept, and theyre rarely used a couple days a month id say, depending on owner and status of the vehicle. but, having an amp in the door is not a good idea for a daily driving vehicle.

a small footprint amplifier could easily be mounted underneath the dash somewhere in most vehicles. if i can find a couple of xtant 1.1 amps, i'll do just that.
