Small Amplifiers Suggestions

For my new car, I need two amplifiers to go under the front seats. One will power a 3-way component set and the other, a sub (at the moment I have a 12" Solobaric 4 ohm dvc). They have to be max L 11"x W 9"x H 3.5". I would like 75wrms x 2 for the comps and 300wrms for the sub at either 1 or 4 ohms.

Suggestions please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Two questions:

1) Are those the absolute largest dimensions you can fit? I ask because I have a 75w X 2 @ 4 Ohms amp I'm looking to sell but it's just a bit larger than the dimensions you posted.

2) If your sub is a Dual 4 Ohm driver how are you going to run it at either 1 or 4 Ohms? Available options for a DVC 4 Ohm sub are 2 Ohms wired in parallel or 8 Ohms wired in series.

Let me know about those measurements, please. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, I put your requirements into the CarAudioMag product directory... voila: http://tinyurl.com/pdabs

Course that does not include 4ch amps bridged, those with more power, etc. But at least you can get a few specific amps in your crosshairs this way. The dimensions should all appear on the list helping you to easily ignore those that are too big.

If you got the bank and have speaks to handle the power, the Alpine PDXs will crank and the 4.150 may be able to do it all out of one amp... someone help me out here... can he bridge two and leave the other two unbridged? me a n00b.

WOW, how did they manage to pack all that power into such small amp? A bit pricy tho.

The answer to that question can be found here in the CarAudioMag review:

The guy actually took it apart to answer that very question. It's all greek to me but if you understand that stuff, it might be an interesting read.

I have seen the 4.150 for less than $500 online (about $450 shipped).

Now that I think about it, the review said the 4.150 had less than optimal performance in the low end, can't remember off the top of my head what the issue was... So a single amp solution using one of those may not not be a good choice (if it was even possible to begin with).
I guess I need to read the article more carefully. Your suggestion of running the front channels stereo and the rears bridged for the sub is possible, and it's the configuration I'm thinking about.
