Slot port

I am planing a wall build for my truck and am trying to decide how to make the port. I can either go with a full length slot port or a square port. I would like to go with the Slot port but i am concerned that it will be to skinny and would Break the 8:1 rule but am not sure if that applies for ports of this size. The port would be 144 square inches of port with the dimensions of 36"x4". This is for SPL competitions so I don't want to sacrifice SPL for looks. Would it hurt to run the Slot port?

36x4 will be fine. However, that may not be the best port style for an SPL box, seeing that port positioning could make a huge difference.

what subs are you building a wall for? 144 inches isn't a lot of port area for a wall.

It is for a single '08 Fi BLT fully loaded 18" I Dont have much room to work with because it is in an extended cab dakota

For SPL competitions I would make a small pressure enclosure and use either 2 6" Aero's or 4 4" Aero's...

No need for a wall what-so-ever, and it won't get you the max spl...
