i'm in the process of having my local builder build me a box for my 12" fi btl.

I want him to do a slot port but he reccomends pnr ports, which i believe is the same as aeros? he says they are easier to do and that they are less noisy?

what are some of the pros and cons of both and which way should i go?

thanks guys

search, it's only been discussed 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times

lol.

only cons of aero ports if any would be that they cost more since with the slot ports you just use the wood/mdf you already have..

Pros of aero ports are: Easy to tune, you can cut some of your tubing off and quickly change your tune. If it is a true aero port with flared ends on both sides you need less square inches of port area per cubic foot of your box vs a standard slot port. A true aero port only needs about 6-10 square inches of port area per cubic foot as a slot port needs about 12-16 per cubic foot..

You can mount aero ports externally if needed very easily..

you are welcome most of this is easily accessible with the search feature/google also.

slot ports offer bracing, whereas aeros provide little to no support to the structural integrity of the enclosure. aeros are expensive and need to buy seperately as opposed to using the same sheet of mdf/trupan/birch for your build with slots

what about sound? where spl is no concern and the box is tuned to 32-34 hz in a daily system?

just looking for what will sound the best but still have the best output.
