slot port=better sq?

After reading the jl site it seems as if a slot port box would have better sq than a sealed box.Well,I have a 12w6v2 and cant decide on what size slotported box to build for my sub. Would it be better to go spec or maybe a little bigger?How would going bigger change to sound? How would a 2cuft. box tuned to 27hz from the box sticky sound with that sub?

sealed is better for sq, end of story. with that said ported can still sound good, just tends to be more boomy

Well unfortunately for them, they are wrong and Eugenics is right. Ported is most often not as clean as sealed, and no, slot ports do not sound cleaner than round ports.

No, common logic. If anything, a round port being smoother would sound cleaner, but it isn't documented.

Those aeroports have some **** good airflow.But I doubt you'd "really" hear a difference.

I read somewhere that a slot port has less port noise than round ports. Maybe this is why JL said a slot is better for sq. I will agree with everyone sealed is best for sq

what you read on the jl site. was probably the best box they recomend for THEIR woofers. not all subs in general....

Another mistruth... As long as you have adequate port area, port noise should be non-existant. Round or slot port...
