slight burning/new electronics smell...

ever since i got my amp hooked up to my components, ive been smelling a lil bit of electronics burning, or the new electronics smell. is that because my comps are finally being broken in? they were ran off my HU before i got the amp.

Not necessarily, could be the comps VCs heating up, smell all of your system and see if you can point it out, like amps, subs, and comps.

Or for some reason the amp could be heating up and getting stinky, is it wired at correct imp.?

Are any of the things new? Could simply be the new electronics smell as well.

kind of like bandaids, yes. its wired correctly. its meant for 4ohm, and thats what its wired to. my amp does 130 x 2 @ 4ohms. i cant pinpoint the smell, but it happens when it gets turned up. it get LOUD at around 48... out of 62. thats when i start to smell it. so it must be a sign of clipping. unless theyre just being broken in. i turned my gain down a little, and ill try and stay around 45-46.

Like i said i can almost guarntee your clipping somethin.

alright. it goes away after a few seconds after i turn the volume down. ill lower the gain even more, just a lil bit. and try and keep my volume minimal. than just use the HU settings to try and correct the volume point. hopefully it wont continue to clip after i do this. ill keep u updated. wont do it tonight tho, to late. dont feel like messing with it again.
