1 Sub can be just as loud or louder as 2 , with the right enclosure 1 sub would have more air room. Having 2 subs w/ no enough air room, would not be as good as 1 sub in the proper enclosure

Thinking about that is pretty nasty- but all things considered it would make one helluva mess. The person who would have to recone your sub would not be able to look you in the eye, that's for sure.

A single 12" setup is not bad. I've run with that and was asked how many subs I had. Two 8" sealed may not the best way to go, but she should have what she wants. Then, bust out a single 12" setup for your own ride and let her drool after that for a while.
