Sister thinks one 12" sub ported is goofy

Alright, my sister just got her car today, and I was discussing some different sub options for her trunk. After assesing who she is and what her musical preferences are, I decided a single 12" Type R in a ported box would be perfect. Upon hearing this, she started laughing and saying people would think she was stupid when she told them she only had one 12. I explained to her how loud it will be because of the quailty of the sub and the fact that it will be ported, but she'd rather have something like 2 8's sealed just so she can have 2 subs and not look "goofy".

Which sounds better to you guys? Maybe she'll listen to other people.

You're worrying about sound, she's worrying about how she'll look. ahh, how men are from mars and women are from venus.

Do yourself a favor: don't make this system about you and what you want.. make it about her and what she wants. You'll save yourself the headache of trying to convince someone of something they disagree with.

get her two tens. compromise. heck, make it two type-r tens.

Alright, I guess I'll let her decide on this. I like the deal someone mentioned on Crutchfield about the reference series from Infinity, but that deal might expire before she can get the money for it. It's not a lot, but she needs a job first.
