will the placement of my sub affect my sound output...like originally i was planning on having the sub mounted on the same side as the port..but if you look at how i have it sitting..if i it on the side with out the port..would it hurt me much?

which other side do you mean? the other shorty side? either way Id go with something similar to what evan drew for you, put it in there would be better, Im sure there are ppl on here who can tell you the best distance to put it away from the port opening but Im not sure myself

thanx....ye i kinda messed up my box a lil bit...that side that you drew on, is very limited with space..but ithink i can make it work...imma have like less than an inch of space from the edge of the hole, and the edge of the box...but if all else fails..i'll construct a new box....

I think he means that the front of the box (port side) is cutting it close to the height of the driver because he didnt place it on the outside of the sides...

if that makes any sense.

Anyways I would say try it as recommended above and if it doesnt work out than rebuild the box and make the front piece taller by putting it on the outside of the sides.

ye...hopefully my sub will come by the end of the week...i'm in Sc, and it's commin from Cali...but ye, once i get the actual subs i'll know for sure...but ye most likely i'll build a new one...frikken **** *** man, totally forgot about that..

while i'm talking about enclosures....do you think i hsould stick to teh RE specs for my MX box...it says 2 cubs tuned to 33 hertz...tha box i build was 2 cubs at 32....any suggestions?

As long its 2 cubes after sub and port displacement I dont think it will make much difference either way. If its 2 cubes gross than I would recommend rebuilding it. And if you didnt already, you may want to add a little bracing to the enclosure.

aaahhh i got it now, that sucks but like mokedaddy said, chalk it up to a learning experience, ive only built a few boxes and each time no matter how good i think the box will be there is always something I could of or should of done differently, so I rebuild them, it happens, good luck with it
