Simple port question, soon to build first box.

Ok, I've never built a box before so I'm using the box and port calculator on carstereo.com and I have a question about the port. I'm building a box for a single 15" sub. I want about 4 cu ft. with a slot port. I entered them dimensions in this calculator.

I get a vent length of 22.41"

Here's my question, How do I make the port 22.41" is this the overall size as in I can do 11.2" deep and make my angle then 11.2" wide? How does this work? I know it sounds stupid but I've never attempted to build a box until now.

nm, I feel like a retard.

Only thing I need to know is this, I have a width of like 3.5" port, I understand that I need to make the port extend into the box until 3.5" from the back wall, then it takes a 90 degree bend. but this is where im stumped. do i start wall #2 3.5" from the back wall and make it 22" wide from the outter side of the first port wall?
