ok so today i was playing my sub and it all the sudden turned off... so im like wtf... i get back to my house to troubleshoot... amp comes on and i dont smell magic smoke... so i take the sub out of the box and i find that both (+) positive tinsel leads only are burnt at almost the exact same spot... the negatives are perfectly fine... so i dont understand what might have happend... i have been running this sub this EXACT same way for a few months now and have had no problems but all of the suddden this happens.. so i guess my real question is what might have caused this so i can avoid doing this again in the future!!??

That pic looks like the tinsel is sperated.. are they burnt, or did they come completely off?

over excursion almost couldnt be it cause why would it only have affected the positive leads and not the negs? im not clipping i set gains using the tutorial. and the leads do look like they could have burnd up. but why would that happen after months of use with the exact same configuration.... im so confused about it i dont know what to think!

if u look close at the pic u can see the remainder of the tinsel lead right below the negative tinsel that is complete... both positives broke exactly like that... so i dont know...
